treble song

Treble Song is an honor choir for girls from the 7th to the 12th grade. The event is held in Jackson Mississippi area with girls from all over Mississippi and the surrounding states participate, following an audition and acceptance process. A guest conductor joins us for the three day event of rehearsal and culminates in a wonderful performance.

In past years, Treble Song has had such notable conductor/ composers as Lynne Gackle, Henry Leck, David Brunner, James Mulholland, James Sclater, Bob Chilcott, Rollo Dilworth, Julia White, and Dr. Barbara Baker. We were proud to have Stephen Roddy, internationally noted conductor and founder of the Houston Children’s Chorus as our 2011 guest conductor. This past year 153 girls were selected for our 2011 Treble Song Honor Choir. Our goal for the Mississippi Girlchoir is to offer this type of Honor Choir opportunity to as many young women throughout the state. We reach many talented SSA singers by offering them this type of educational experience of Treble Song at a minimal cost.
