Membership is by audition and is open to any girl in grades three through twelve.
Girls are placed in one of the four choirs according to their musical experience and
ability. There is no discrimination as to race, religion, or nationality. Those
applying for membership must submit a letter of recommendation from a former
classroom or music teacher. Membership for the fall semester will close
October 1 and for the spring semester on February 1. Being a member of the
Mississippi Girichoir is a privilege and requires dedication and commitment.
Rehearsals
Bel Canto Monday 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
Lyrica Monday 4:30 - 5:45 p.m.
Jubilate Tuesday 4:15 - 5:15 p.m.
Prima Tuesday 4:15 - 5:15 p.m.
All rehearsals are held at Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church located at 305 North
Congress Street in Jackson. Rehearsals are held weekly beginning August 23 for the
Bel Canto Choir, August 30 for Lyrica, and September 7 for the Jubilate and Prima Choirs. Rehearsals
will continue each week until Spring Concert for the Lyrica, Jubilate and Prima Choirs.
Bel Canto Choir rehearsals will continue at the discretion of the director,
depending on the summer performance and tour schedule. No rehearsals will be
held the week of Thanksgiving, during school Christmas holidays, and Spring holidays.
